He is an internationally recognized expert, frequent national guideline panel member, and experienced researcher on physical therapy treatment for osteoarthritis of the knee. His earned professional degrees include a BSc from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, a Master of Physical Therapy from Baylor University, a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Creighton University, and a Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy from Andrews University. He is board certified in Orthopaedics and he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. Dr. Deyle has received outstanding researcher awards from the Texas Physical Therapy Association, The American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists, and the Geriatric Specialty Section. He has twice received the Rose Research Award from the Orthopaedic Specialty Section. He is the recipient of the Hartgraves Award for Teaching Excellence from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, and the Freddy Kaltenborn “Teach I must” and the Distinguished Lecturer Awards from the American Academy of Orthopadic Manual Physical Therapists. He has also received the Outstanding Alumni Award from the Army-Baylor Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Alumni Association. He continues to be actively involved with clinical practice and research, and teaching in numerous academic and clinical settings Principles of Musculoskeletal Imaging:Dr. Gail Deyle will be presenting a two-day seminar on radiology and its practical use in the clinical setting on Friday October 27, 2017 from 8 a.m. -5 p.m., and Saturday October 28th 8 a.m.-3 p.m. This course will count for 12 contact hours and a course certificate will be given out at the end of the course. The cost of the course is $100 to attend the course. On Friday, lunch will be provided at no cost, and on Saturday light snacks and refreshments will be provided. The course will be held at the Health Professions Building in room 1008 located on the Winchester Medical Center Campus.With the purchase of the continuing education course a free single Gala ticket will be included for the evening of October 28th (see tab above for gala details). Course Description: This course is designed to advance the knowledge of health professionals regarding the diagnostic indications for musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging including evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, the diagnostic utility of MSK imaging procedures for selected pathology, and the risks, benefits, and associated health care costs of imaging procedure. The history and current evidence for the use of MSK imaging procedures by allied health professionals will be presented. The basic physics of image acquisition and fundamental concepts of image interpretation for a variety of common imaging procedures including plain radiography, magnetic resonance imagining (MRI), ultrasound (US), computed axial tomography (CAT), fluoroscopy, and radionucleotide bone scans are taught with clinically relevant case examples. Emphasis is placed on how to successfully integrate MSK imaging procedures into physical therapist patient/client management.
